How Do I Become A Master Gardener?

You need an interest in gardening, a desire to learn and a desire to serve your community. The Master Gardener training course is open to the general public, 18 years and older. The 13 week on-line course provides weekly lectures and question and answer sessions with the instructors. The on-line format allows you flexibility to fit the program into your schedule. After successfully completing this course, you will be eligible to join the Otero County Master Gardener Association and be certified by the New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension Service. To remain an active member, you must volunteer 30 hours of service to your community each year thereafter.
